Follow the link to my blog page where I regularly provide updates into my filmmaking and writing career, and where I have posted the first few pages of some scripts I've written.

What can you do?

Writing is a tough job, and an even tougher business to get into let alone sustain a career in. The quality isn't determined by facts and figures, we are in the emotions business. So lead your work with your heart, write from the gut, write honestly, but don't forget your brain along the way.

Personal Growth

Writing is like exercising, the hardest part is actually doing it. You can imagine yourself as a writer, but if you're not practicing the craft everyday, you will not see the results you want. It's important to constantly work at ideas, even if you've fallen out of love with them.

Career Development

Always stay in contact with fellow creatives. Get opinions from people, whether they're writers or not. You may think that because you're not getting paid or you haven't signed a contract, your effort isn't helping your career. But a large part of this job is talking to people and sharing each other's work.

Key Benefits

  • Write, write, write

  • Share ideas and opinions (you don't have to share your entire script)

  • Be understanding in criticism and humble in praise
